  • Space wasted

In the 'properties - organize' pane of U9 the keyword list isn't extended to the bottom of the tab. Instead lots of space is left empty. Imho the closed 'collections' group should be shown right above the tab name 'Organize' to display as much of the keywords list as possible.

Eyes wide shut? This one still exists in the latest build:

Oops, strings are truncated and scrollbar is missing.

BTW. Rating symbols are hand made.

Yeah, I also agree with you, a lot of space wasted. I like to have both Categories and Keywords at reach without needing to constantly click the [+] signs to expand. Although I plan to use Collections in recent future, I'd like if it could be moved somewhere else!

This surely is extremely annoying and makes me stick with Acdsee Pro 8 because I work with lots of keywords.

Just checked the latest Pro10 update, and the problem is still there.

I filed multiple support cases with AcdSee over the last two years, and I cannot understand why such a simple fix is not done (make the keywords section use the full available height once collections and categories are not expanded).

Hey ACDSee developers - if you read this post:

"As a user of keywords, I want an expanded section in the Properties/Organize pane (like "Keywords") to occupy all the available vertical space not used by the other (non-expanded) sections because I want to see as many keyword rows in the scrollable area as possible". It's simply ridiculous to block free vertical space for currently collapsed sections.

And here we are, 8 months later, and . . . crickets. I'm also thrilled by having a block of four lines used (or in my case, not used) for "Quick keywords." Working on the 11.5" screen of my field-portable laptop, where I have less than an inch (seven lines) for keywords compared to 2 inches of completely wasted space, is very frustrating.

As a user of categories I have the exact same problem.

This bug exists since the implementation of collections in AC Pro/Ulti 9. However, I have a vague remembrance of similar problems with the properties pane many years ago when the actual design of the properties pane was implemented. Could have been AC Pro 4 or 5. At that time the problem was solved with a new build of the same version.

After failing to fix this in AcdSee Pro 9 and 10, we are now only days from the release of PhotoStudio 2018 ... just asked AcdSee support whether it is finally resolved in that release. I'll update their answer here, but honestly I do not have much hope left ...

I agree, too, and will put the same request

                      Here's a screeeshot of Built 1196 (a.k.a. AC Ulti 11, a.k.a. AC Photo Studio Ultimate 2018)

Holy Moly! After two years the "Properties-Organize pane" still is buggy. The collections list is missing a scroll bar.

But who cares? With the new "Categories" and "Keywords" pane this dialogue isn't of any use anyway.

Update: Moved this topic to another thread now.

The keywords section in Properties-Organize now seems to work as expected in PhotoStudio 2018 Ultimate.

BUT: In the new separate keywords pane, my keywords are not shown in the input field (but highlighted in the hierarchy). Old Properties-Organize works fine.
Does anyone experience the same problem? AcdSee support does not seem to understand yet.

                          Confirmed!
But that's another issue worth another thread. If were going to collect all GUI flaws here, this thread will blow up. Please contact the support about this issue.

Thx for the confirmation - so I'm not alone out here. Support case is already filed, but the agent does not seem to understand. I'll open another thread for this.
