  • Unable to start Ultimate 2018

    Suddenly this morning Ultimate 2018 will not start saying:
    "...Ultimate has encountered a system error and will now close"
    Help please
    Erro shown.

        I suspect there is something corrupt in the database...

        Try this--- Go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\ACD Systems\Catalogs and rename the catalogue. Ultimate 10 catalogue is named 10Ult. So I would rename it to 10UltOld. I don't knew what 2018 names its catalogue but it ought to be obvious.

        ​Then restart ACD... it will create a new catalogue. and ought to start. ACD will create a new catalogue. If you've been embedding metadata regularly, then you'll be able to recover completely.

          Could also be the registry, try renaming "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ACD Systems". Sometimes it's even a combination of registry and database.
