  • Manually updating lens profiles

Hey I have a Nikon 200-500 lens profile and doesn't have a profile and was wondering if there was a way to manually update. Thanks

    Hi,

ACDsee uses the opensource Lensfun Database, and there is (still) no profile for your pro lens.
If you are willing and able to spend 1 or 2 hours to take some pictures as described here
    http://wilson.bronger.org/calibration ,
there is a great chance, that some weeks later there will be a lens profile for your lens.
A while ago we've discussed this here:
    http://forum.acdsee.com/forum/main-c...ensfun-updates
Johnjbloomfield and i took calibration pics with various lenses with the fullframe Pentax K-1, and about a month later the volunteers of the lensfun project created the depending lens profiles.
Then manually saved in AC, they work fine.

As far as I understand the lensfun project is pretty much dead...

You are mistaken it went quiet for a while but in the last week as I am on the mailing list I've seen about 25 new profiles get 'committed' to the database.
