  • Best way to cull orphaned metadata that's visible in catalog pane?

    Hello,

I've been correcting some EXIF and IPTC metadata, but now when I open the catalog pane and look, for example, at IPTC Keywords, both the incorrect and corrected keywords are listed. If I select an old keyword, it finds no associated images (which is good), but I'd like to remove the orphaned metadata from the catalog pane. What's the most efficient way to do that?

    Thanks!

Why doesn't ACDSee enable the same Picker & Edit List functionality for all IPTC metadata fields as it does for IPTC:Keywords and IPTC:Suplemental Categories? That would provide an easy way to delete orphaned metadata from all other IPTC fields. Please ACDSee, can you implement this?

In the meantime, this is how I get rid of orphaned keywords (it is ugly)

      Pick a picture, any picture
Go to the IPTC keywords tab
Go to Keywords . Press the triple dot...
Now you are in the IPT Keyword Picker

      Select Edit List
Pick the keyword you want to remove.
      Select remove
After 40-70 seconds ACD will come back with a message stating the keyword was removed... or... the keyword is still in use.
