  • Support for PNG with 16 bits color depth?

I can't find a way to export a photo to PNG format with 16 bits color depth. Isn't it supported? GIMP does it for instance.

PNG supports palette-based images (with palettes of 24-bit RGB or 32-bit RGBA colors), GrayScale images (with or without Alpha Channel for transparency), and full-color non-palette-based RGB/RGBA images (with or without alpha channel).

PNG also supports 16 bits per channel. Just read the chapter named “Pixel format” in the Wikipedia article that you quoted. Anyway, like I already wrote, GIMP allows to write this format and ACDSee is actually able to read it, so why not write it as well?
