  • Changing background of photo

    I take pictures of small glass objects (actually toothpick holders) and need to either darken or lighten the background. I have tried many available tools but not successfully. I was able to do this in Picasa and need to do it with ACD. I am attaching a picture.

    Hi Paul - There's a number of ways to do this. I made the two examples below in less than one minute. The fastest and easiest method (for me) is to use Develop Mode as follows: Open the image in Develop Mode and click on the Develop Brush. Raise or lower the Exposure slider and simply brush the change on to the background of the image. You can easily adjust the brush size and feathering as needed. That's it. Post back with any questions.

      I would add to LV_Bill that changing between smart brushing modes is also helpful.

        I agree with both the above two comments and would also add that if you play around with the "Tint" slider in Develop mode, you can also change the colour of your background.
