  • Entire image collection is orphaned

Pro v7, win7. MS rebooted my system with ACDSee open. Now I've lost all my data (ten years worth, ten thousand +- images).

My image folder is on a portable drive, which I map using subst. (To use it on multiple computers. This stupid method predates my getting a portable drive.)

Tools/Database/Database Maintenance now shows the mapped drive as orphaned, along with all of its subfolders. It does not show the real drive at all*. Things I have tried:
    • Restoring the database from a copy I made before fiddling with it. No change.
    • Restoring the database from one stored in the cloud a few days ago. No change.
    • De-mapping the drive. Hosed the catalog information.
    • Re-mapping the drive. Catalog info still hosed.
    • Fiddle with the bindings. No change.

So, I need to de-orphan the mapped version of the drive, then restore the catalog.

    Thx, Jim

*Actually, it shows it by its name rather than its drive letter, and it shows it as unmounted. Mounting it is not a menu choice.
