I have for created a "People" folder under "Catalog" that contains no images. I suspect it was created when I was rushing to catalogue my images (using face detection) I created a name and then renamed the image face. Thereby creating a folder with no content. I cannot find a method to delete the folder. Clues ??

In ACDSee Ultimate, and likely also Pro and Home there is by default a "People Category" in the Category section. If that is what you are referring to, then it can be removed the same way as any other category...
Just right click on it, and select Delete.
you will see this warning:-
Click on yes, and it's gone.
If I haven't understood your post correctly, then perhaps post a screen shot showing the item you want to remove.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for responding Greyfox, but alas I have a terminology shortage. Categories, folders, shmoloders. I have included an image of my "Catalog/People/ then the list of names" . The highlighted name has no images associated with it and never will have. I wish to delete it because it offendeth mine eye, and it's pointless being there.

The exact method will depend on what version of ACDSee Pro you are using.
For the 2021 version if you go to Tools\Manage People select the name from the list and then click on the rubbish bin icon to delete it.
In 2022 and 2023 the Tools\Manage People will take you to a new People Management mode, which can also be directly accessed from the top selection bar in Manage Mode.
People manage mode, in the named tab, each named person will have a thumbnail. Select the one you want to delete, right click and select Delete.
2021, 2022, 2023 are the only versions (all Ultimate) that I have installed at the present time. If your version is earlier that that you will have to refer to the Help file.

Hi Greyfox, thank you for the words and pictures. I'm running version 2022 prof and I have resolved my issue. The scenario that I had was, I had created a name but there was no image associated with the name and no image and no folder so using Manage gave me nothing just an empty screen. To resolve I had to name an object not a person in an image in a folder and then using Manage delete the "person" from the folder. Thanks again for your help. As for using the Help file, often if you can't describe the issue in the way the product documentation expects, it is often the case that you can't find the answer..
