ACDSee for iOS - Excellent

Just picked up v1.00 for $4.99. When I quickly scanned over the features list, I was looking for applying TEXT to the image. I didn't see it. But, was suspicious because Adobe Photoshop Touch also has an issue with adding TEXT (it flattens it after you type it into the image). So apparently, since ACDSee's iOS app doesn't support it, or layers from what I can see, this may be an issue. In any case, I enjoyed jumping off on their first version. Hopefully they will add layers, and the ability to add a TEXT layer which is post save re-editable (as text). See attached screen capture of the app as viewed on the App Store with Distortion effect applied.

While there's no conventional Levels adjustment, I find the Light EQ, Tone EQ, Color EQ, Shadows, Highlights, Fill Light, Brightness & Contrast have the bases covered...at least as far as I require editing pics on my phone. If I were working on an iPad, I might reconsider...

Odd, that ACDSee seems so mac phobic on the desktop, but seems to embrace iOS for mobile apps at the expense of Android.(I'm an Android guy!) I should think some improvement in the Mac version of ACDSee would benefit from a symbiotic and strong tie in with the ACDSee for iOS tool. Go figure!

A very minor thing....
I think I would prefer if the main UI were grey instead of burnt orange.

Another minor thing...a small bug.
I was messing around in ACDsee, and double-tapped it to zoom.
I tap again and go back to full screen.

However, I couldn't get out of it - no amount of single or double tapping could bring back the controls.
I could swipe to the next image and back, but I couldn't get out of it.
I had to kill ACDSee to reset the app.

Just discovered the ACDsee camera app shoots in 16:9

Now, my question is, what's the diff between ACDSee and ACDSee Pro...other than the color and included pro pack?

I got regular ACDsee iOS and the Pro Pack...can I crossgrade over to Pro for the grey UI?

@Quinn - Yep, the basic iOS Photo App has a pretty nice slideshow. Unfortunately, it also has some very quirky behavior regarding the sort sequence of your photos. You literally have to trick Apple iPads and iPhones to sort your images by File Name. And, the new ACDSee iOS app seems similarly obsessed with resequencing and grouping your images by date. Ugggh !!

Hi Quinn - Yes the iOS app is basic but very solid and easy to use. My only gripe is the absence of a Slideshow feature -- unless I missed it. (a more frequent occurrence with each passing year).

I found a slideshow right within the Photos app in iOS 9.1.
Just select the photos you want, then press the Share icon in the lower left. (the square with the arrow)
Then click "Slideshow".
It will start the default slideshow theme called "Magazine", but if you tap the screen and hit the options button, you can select different themes, music and speed of the slideshow.

I don't think you missed it. The only slideshow option I see involves swiping with the index finger.

No doubt there's a dozen slideshow apps in the store...I'll check.

I finally upgraded my iPhone to a 5S and was able to try ACDSee iOS.

I am very pleased with it. It's a much better app than Photoshop Express...(especially since the latest version implemented a white UI...Really Adobe, a white UI on a photo editing app?)

Anyways, I highly recommend it - very easy and effective to use - great features. Definitely worth the $2 and the $5 for the for the Pro Pack.
