Any way to remove this from the timeline?

Is there any way to remove the large gap shown below? It almost looks like an empty track but it is not.

Short answer, as far as I know, No.
I've never found it to be a problem. Once the number of tracks reaches the point where the vertical scroll bar appears, the scroll position will dictate whether that space shows or not.



Is there some particular reason you don't want it there?

Yes, because whenever I open a project I have to scroll so it is not showing. It just seems like wasted space. Not a huge deal though.
