  • Screen recording external monitor with Luxeo Pro 7 on Windows 10 Pro laptop

Is it possible to set Luxeo Pro 7 Recorder to record an external monitor instead of the internal laptop monitor on a Dell laptop running Windows 10 Pro?

That could depend on how you have the external monitor configured in Windows 10, but you should be able to see whether Luxea offers the selection. When you open up the screen selection (the small arrow to the right of the monitor icon) in Luxea Video Recorder 7 and go down to Full screen, if the 2nd monitor is seen as Display 2, then you should be able to select it. And the 2nd monitor should then show a thin red border around it.

I'm able to record either my laptop's own screen (Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series) or my external Dell monitor. I simply need to select the appropriate monitor as shown in a previous comment. With my specific graphics chip, the external Dell monitor seemed to be too demanding when trying to record a Youtube video, since there was a bit of lag in several different recordings. Recording non-motion subjects, either screen was recorded correctly without problems.

Just out of interest, what is the resolution of the external monitor, what type of connected does it have to the laptop, and what speed is your internet connection?

I do most of my full screen recording from on line sources from my second monitor (1920 x 1080) and I'm not seeing any lag problems with the Luxea Pro 7 recorder, but the PC is a desktop, its video card is a GTX 1660 OC with 6GB memory, and I have a 50Mb/s internet service. The local network is fast Ethernet connected.
