  • Where do all the pictures come from?????

Here is one to be explained: I did a quick search for a given picture, namely pictures which contain IMG_6105 in their name, and which are located in a given folder. Note: My quick search options include "Search selected folders only". The quick search finds 6 pictures, and yet, when I go to the specific folder, there is only one picture with IMG_6105 contained in its name. Where do all the other five come from? The actual images all look the same ... but the names are slightly different. If these are "left overs" or "ghost" images, how can I get rid of them? I tried to "Optimize the db" but that did not do it.

Here are the links to the associated screen shots:

A screenshot of the Quick Search (including the options and the results)

A screenshot of the complete content of the associated folder. It shows only ONE image with IMG_6105 contained in its name

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Tahunga,

Database records of photos that have since been moved, renamed, or deleted outside of ACDSee (aka "orphans") can be removed using the "Remove Orphans" command. This is available via Tools > Optimize Database. Please select the applicable Volume and then click Remove Orphans.
