Sluggish performance

I've been hoping for an update to this product that would make it feel fast. I'm on a 5K iMac, Core i7, SSD, 32 GB RAM, etc. and this app doesn't feel very responsive. Nothing is smooth: scrolling is rough and jagged feeling. Resizing the window I can almost watch it draw the frames. 4.2 build 744 has been out for quite a while - I was hoping we'd see a release focused on performance.
