  • Add Share to file menu

Could it be helpful to add standard MacOS Share options to the ACDSee file menu? Currently, the quickest method of emailing images is to drag selected thumbnails directly on to apple's Mail app icon, then set the file sizes there. Could ACDSee automatically cut files down into a greater variety of sizes?

    Hi smashed avocado,

Thank you for the feedback. I agree the Share menu is a handy feature on macOS. It's something we have been considering for some time now. I will raise this suggestion again with the product team.

As you mention, one alternative method is to drag and drop the files from ACDSee to your mail client. Another way is to use the External Editors feature:

    1. Configure External Editors, then Add...
    2. Choose your mail client from your list of apps
    3. Optionally, set it as the default External Editor (meaning you can trigger the action via keyboard shortcut ctrl+option+k). You can also assign a custom keyboard shortcut to any app defined as an External Editor via the Keyboard Shortcuts menu in the app Preferences.

Once configured, it's an alternative way to easily share selected images via email.

ACDSee can resize images via the Batch Resize command. You could create and save various Batch presets (e.g. resize to 25%, resize to 1920x1080, etc), then re-run them at any time on any number of images.

    Hope this helps,
    David
