Is it possible to update the Lens Model information in the EXIF data?

My Nikon D5300 and D7100 only write the following information to this field for two of my lenses: "18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6" and "80-400 mm f/4.5-5.6".

The Lens Correction part of the software would like these to be "Nikkor AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DX ED" and "Nikkor AF 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 ED VR".

If I could batch change the Lens Model it would save a lot of time scrolling through the list of lenses.

I tried this through Manage/Properties but the EXIF Lens Model data cannot be updated.

I know that I could map these in Develop Mode, but I do most of my work in Edit Mode.

I also know that I could create a Preset in Devlop Mode to apply the lens correction, but this would modify the original (I know I could restore it to this state).

Alternatley, is there a way to modify the list of lenses offered in the Lens Correction dop-down list of lenses?

I see no one responded . Anyone read these boards. I sent an email to customer support today 6/29/19 regarding this issue with my canon equipment. We'll see what kind of response I get and will post if its helpful.

Did you either of you get an answer to your questions? I have similar issues.

For many cameras the Info you're looking for is located in the tag lensid, but AC just allow to display the tags lens. You could copy the lensid in to lens with the following command:
        exiftool "-lens<lensid" foldername
Not sure if can recommend this though. Try with some samples on your own risk.

PeterA, sorry for only just seeing your comment: I thought I'd have got notification of it.

What I eventually did was record an Action for each of my lenses. I can get to these in Edit Mode via the PlayAction button which I have on the toolbar just below the Menu line at the top of the screen. I've got rid of all of the other buttons by editing that toolbar.

There are some built-in Actions in groups so to keep mine at the top of the list, therefore no scrolling, I created a Group for my recorded actions and named it "_MyActions". The underscore ensures that it is at the top of the list.

This is a lot quicker than going through the Lens Model menu.
