  • Why is ACDSee not allowing me to add keywords?

I'm a brand new user of ACDSee Ultimate. I'm using it on a Windows 10 OS. Each time I attempt to create a keyword in the Metadata tab of the Properties pane, I click "Enter" after I've typed the keyword I want to add and an audible sound comes from the computer as if to tell me "no, you can't do that." The keyword that I've typed in is not saved.

Any ideas what I'm doing incorrectly or how I can correct this?

    Thanks, in advance.

    Hi Mamiya2Nikon,

Is it possible that the file is set to Read Only? You can check this in the Properties pane, File tab.

Also, are you entering a keyword under the IPTC section of the Metadata tab, or the ACDSee Metadata section? If it's the latter, try entering it in the Organize tab instead.

I had the same issue when I started using ACDSee. As Tristan stated, if you're entering the keyword in the ACDSee metadata, then you have to do it under the organize tab. Even the user guide doesn't explain this clearly. I submitted a support request on this awhile back.
