ID:	49716 I am using ACDSee Ultimate since Version 9, now on version 2019 and I only realized a few days ago the excessive CPU-usage. It is just sitting idle on my desktop, i don't work with it at all and it takes 65 to 75% of my CPU. I have observed that behavior now for three days and have left it open for 12 hours, thinking there might have been some cataloging task to be performed in the background. But even after the third day there is no difference. Other comparable programs - DxO PhotoLab, On1 Photo Raw 2019.6 - take exactly zero % CPU power, when just opened an sitting idle on my desktop.
Does anyone have an idea what is wrong and what I should do?

Thank you Edvard, your question solved my problem. I never meant to switch face detection on, It must be the default. After switching it off, CPU usage went to zero %.

Better than face recognition is to use the catalog feature.
