  • ACDSee Ultimate 2020 crashes tryng to import from iPhone 6S

I'm just trialing Ultimate 2020 before deciding on a purchase.

When I try to import from a Device (iPhone 6S running iOS 13) Ultimate crashes. It allows me to select Apple iPhone. It then starts to gather data, gives me a warning this can take a long time, I continue. It displays the "Gathering information from Apple iPhone..." window, and then about 2 minutes later Ultimate 2020 just closes.

It works OK with an iPhone 8.

Is there anything I should check on the iPhone 6S, or any logs on the ACDSee side I can check as to what may be the problem?

    This is on Windows 10.

I have never tried to import from an iphone, but are both phones fully updated in the OS?

Yes, both phones are updated to iOS 13.3

Same problem for me. I suspect Acdsee is choking on some of the media files.

Yes, this is obviously a bug that should have been fixed long ago. I have never succeeded in importing more than a handful of pictures from three different iphone models.
Any chance this will be fixed?

Hmm I've never seen a bug fix for anything yet, from what I can make out AcDsee philosophy is that you purchase the next version to get any improvements, although reading back through the posts it appears that is a rarity as well

It might help if you gave some details as to how you are trying to "import", and what exactly are you trying to import.

For example, are you using Mobile Sync, or are you using File/Import.?

Are you importing videos, or still photos or both,?

What is the format of the files and have you tried importing a single item at a time to see whether the issue relates to a specific type of file?

If you are able to transfer the images from your phone to your PC hard drive using some other means, is ACDSee then able to handle them?

Finally, have you raised this issue with ACDSee Support?

Running iOS 14 and Mobile Synch works great, I would never transfer from an iPhone any other way, it is so convenient,

Thanks for the suggestion of Mobile Sync, am trying that now. My problem came from trying to import from File/Import/From Device. I have around 7000 phots/videos on my device, maybe this was part of the problem?
