  • Should i use a separate catalog for videos

I have about 300 video clips on my hard drive and i really love the idea of being able to add tags and categories to them just like my photo's.

I have a current catalogue of 30k photo's and am just wondering whether a separate catalogue photo's and videos would be best practice?

Select one video (not play) and right-click on Categories in the right pane. Now create a new Video category.

Sorry, i understand about how to add keywords and categories. I'm just wondering if it would slow the program down by having the videos added to it.

You will not add vedeo., You will only add categories. The video stays where it is.

To be completely clear if it's not understood:
The program stores data about the files but doesn't copy the files themselves into a database. 300 videos is no different than adding 300 photos, I believe, which is inconsequential compared to your 30k photos.
