background duplicate find

I may be missing it somewhere but is there a way to background the duplicate search ?
I'm dealing with tons of images and running specific duplicate searches within paths and it would be nice to be able to do other things while it runs

Nope, it can't run in background.

If you feel fine with the way AC deals with dupes, you could install the test version of AC Pro and let it do the job. Afaik, the whole procedure is running completely off any other feature of AC (eg. database).

However, imho there's tons of other sw showing a better performance.

Thanks Emil, was hoping to use ACD so as not to have piles of Orphans as the data is on a NAS, guess I'll run cleanups then rebuild the catalogs...........
