How to wrap text within frame?

Hi Emil, yes I had it set to Frame. It works on manually typed text, but so far refuses to do so on text brought in from the file metadata.

Turn the last option of the text menu bar from "Dynamic" to "Frame".

It's not wrapping for me. I've compared your screenshot to my window and I appear to have the same settings as you. But I am a bit mystified because with exactly the same settings on my first attempt (after finding the "frame" option - it was "dynamic" by default) the text was truncating where it hit the edge of the frame. Now it's simply overlapping - and I can't think of anything else I changed between the two attempts other than saving the file and reopening it. The only difference between your example and mine that I can see is you typed your text in, while I had mine autofilled from IPTC description data

Later: Yep! That's it. If I type it in manually it wraps as I type. Imported from metadata it does not. Ok I just need to rethink this whole project. Maybe this is not the right tool for it after all. In fact adding the bottom bar (border) as a proportion of the size of the image as ACDSee does it is right for this purpose. What is also required is autosizing of the text to suit the proportions of the photo, as I would be displaying or printing them as a sort of standard size

I'm not sure where you are reading the instruction about the shape button, but here is how I do it in U2022.

I assume you are in Edit mode, have selected the text tool, selected the text color, the text size and the frame option and typed in your text.
You will note that a text layer has been added above the background layer.
You will also note that if you select the text using the move tool, a bounding box appears, but if you change the size of the box, it changes the size of the text which is NOT what you want, so if you have done this, select the hand to hide the bounding box..

(a) Select the text tool
(b) Now select the text layer. The bounding box will appear.
(c) Now providing you have enough height in the box, reducing its width will cause the text to wrap.

Also, with the text tool still selected, you can drag the cursor over the text (to highlight a part or all of it) and you can change the font, the color and the size of the highlighted text.

Trying to follow the instructions below. Got as far as creating my text object and populating with the required words. Activated selection tool and selected the text object. Can't find the Properties bar and therefore the Shape button. Can someone please show me a screenshot of where to look for these items? I found the "Frame" option but if I reshape the text frame (taller but less wide) having used that option, text gets truncated. I was hoping for it to wrap.

To Wrap Text to a Shape:

1. Select the Selection Tool and click a text object.
2. In the Properties bar, click the Shape button.
