Setting application default sorting to Date Taken

Does anyone know if is possible to set a "global" default sort order in manage mode from Filename to Date Taken? I currently have to set the sort order "Date Taken" manually every time I create a new folder. I didn't see anything in the Tools -> Options menu for that.

When I set the sort order to Date Taken in the Sort menu, it stays there, through program shut down and restart, and also through reboot, until I select an alternative sort order. So it remembers the last used sort order. .There is no setting that I am aware of to over-ride that and have it change to a specific order regardless of what was last used.
