  • Flder icons show content picture thumnails and other folders icons are blanks Why?

    1) Some folder icons show content picture thumnails and other folders icons do not. What is the reason?
    2) Some folder icons show content picture thumbnails that are out of date? How can I update this?

Could be a number of reasons, but possibly that the version of ACDSee you have does not support showing thumbnails on the folder for the particular format of the files that are in those folders.

Check Tools\Options\File List to make sure "Show thumbnails on folders" is still ticked.
Check Tools\File Association Settings, also Windows Apps Settings on the file types in the folder.
Some folders, for instance [Originals] and [Developed] don't show thumbnails on the folders also thumbnails for non image file types like Excel, Word etc don't show as thumbnails on folders..

If you can provide a list of the actual file extensions in the folders where no thumbnails are shown on the folders and the version of ACDSee you are using you might get a more targeted answer.

You could try selecting the particular thumbnails in Manage mode, and use Tools\Metadata\Rebuild Thumbnails and Metadata.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, then perhaps try Tools\Database\Catalog. Remove (or untick) any existing folders from the catalog list, then add the folder or folders the particular images are in, then complete the catalog process..

Perhaps the question that should be asked, is why have these thumbnails not been updated. Is it because you have made changes to the images outside of ACDSee, or is there some other issue?.
