  • Backup DB: plugin AM_ZIP.apl missing

Whenever I try to backup my DB, I get a message that the plugin AM_ZIP.apl is missing. Where can I get this plugin and where would I have to put it?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Uncle Ben,

Could you please check the install directory, PlugIns folder, and see if the file AM_ZIP.apl exists? You can access the install directory by right-clicking on ACDSee's desktop shortcut and selecting Open File Location, then browse into the PlugIns folder and see if the file exists.

If the file does not exist, then you can repair your installation by running the full installer again. You can find all the installers for ACDSee Home 2020 EN here: Under Builds, select the build and architecture that match your system, and click Download Link to download the full installer. Then run the installer, select Modify, and make sure that the Archive plug-ins item is set to be installed. See screenshot. Then finish the installation, and the AM_ZIP.apl file should be recreated in the PlugIns folder. This should allow you to back up your database.

If you have another language, edition, or version of ACDSee, you should log in to your acdID account at: Then go to the My Apps page, find the correct version of ACDSee, and download it from there. Please let me know if you need any more assistance resolving this issue.

      Hi Tristan

Thanks for your help! Reinstalled the application and selected the archive plugins - now everything works fine. Obviously, I forgot to select them when I initially installed.
