I think so. Maybe a good excuse to justify upgrading to Pro or Ultimate.

I used to own Ultimate but I simply don't need all the editing features as I do all of that in Affinity Photo

I don't have ACDSee Home.

ACDSee Ultimate 2022 certainly produces thumbnails for PDF files, and one can also choose to have a double click on them make the PDF readable in ACDSee's view mode, or in one's default pdf reader.

However,

The comparison of ACDSee products at https://www.acdsee.com/en/product-comparison/ indicates that the Home version does not support Viewing, navigating, or printing PDFs.
and the Home 2022 manual doesn't show PDF's as a supported file format, so maybe the Home version can't show other than the generic PFD icon.

In Ultimate, there are two settings in relation to PDF's, one being that the plugin ID_PS.api is selected in Tools\Plugin Settings, and the other is that PDF Documents are selected in Tools\Options\Document File Types.

Short of an actual Home 2022 user being able to shed some more light on this, your best bet may be to raise a support request with https://www.acdsee.com/en/support/form/

I have noID_PS.api nor anything in Tools\Options\ that says "Document File Types." so it may well be a limitation of the home version

Is there a way to decode the thumbnails in a PDF file? All I get now is the program icon. In Windows explorer I can see the thumbnails, XnView showed them but not ACDSEE Home 2022
I have Ghostscript installed, I have searched the forums and even googled for an answer
