  • Date Issue

If moving images from another computer, e.g. using a Thumb Drive: Any image(s) that were modified by the sending system will have the Date Modified in the File Date. When these images are brought into ACDSee the target Directory will be made using the Date Modified -- found on the modified images -- although -- the image(s) inserted into that directory will still be properly named using the Date Taken as found in the EXIF data. This is an inconsistent process and will then require the stray images to be manually moved back into the directory that they belong in.

this is the nature of computer files: if an image is changed -- by setting a rating, or adding keywords(tags) -- then the date modified will be changed in the file structure.

hopefully, in ACDSee -- this becomes un-important as when images are imported from a "device" (e.g. a thumbdrive or SD Chip or camera ) -- the camera file names are replaced with a better file name made up from the date/time taken plus a counter.

The import function in AC is completely outdated, but there's tons of apps that supply this functionality. However, If you need to import images into several folders in one run, then it's a use full feature if the app not only copies the original files in to the suitable folders, but also creates LNK files into a single temp folder. This allows to catalogued all fresh images more easily with AC.
