Help please - user question

I am a 365 subscriber using Ultimate 2022. I have a picture in the background every time I open a image file. I do not know what I did to cause this. How do I get it to go away? And secondly how do I get the vertical strip of faces on the side when viewing a picture showing the faces on that picture. I did something to get this on and love it but them it went away. Thanks in advance. I have the 800 plus page manual but find it difficult to understand the user interface as there are so very many settings.

If that is occurring when you are in View mode, then go to Tools\Options\Display and check the the Background is set to either "Default Color" or to "Custom Color", rather than being set to "Tiled Image"

Assuming the faces in the selected image have been identified, in View Mode, open the top Panes menu and tick Face Detection. That will open the Face Detection pane.
