I had same problem, solved it by killing ACDSee commander and restarting ACDSee ultimate.

Well, if you copy, the copy and original files may have different future lives and be separately later edited, so this seems normal to have two thumb...

I had to do this too last year, it worked. As a precaution you may copy database instead of renaming it and delete copy when ok.

You may have metadata in raw files by converting them to dng format which is a general raw format WITH metadata (free Adobe DNG converter may be used...

With Windows, on the right pane in "Printer parameters" there is an option "orientation" which may be set to "portrait"...

Avast (and other AV or software (Acronis backup for instance)) have functions detecting applications who repeatedly rewrite files and blocking those apps....

Wifi is much slower than wires which is much slower than local disks (wether SSD or not, of course SSD is faster).
